Sonic Portrait™
A bespoke composition developed through reflective inquiry, a listening conversation, and Duke's interpretation of an individual's story and inner landscape.
/ Cultural Partnerships
Original music and artist-led experiences created for exceptional places and the communities they bring together.
Conceived by composer and pianist Duke Bojadžiev, each partnership is shaped around a place, its identity, and its cultural ambitions.
The Resonance Atelier creates musical programmes in which attentive listening becomes original composition. Every collaboration is led by Duke and developed through direct encounter with the place and the people gathered there.
A partnership may take the form of a salon, residency, or site-inspired commission. Human authorship and direct encounter shape the programme, rather than a repertoire delivered unchanged from place to place.

The Atelier provides the authorship and sonic world.
Distinct compositional approaches share one practice: translating attentive encounter into original music. A partnership can draw from any combination of these forms.

A brief, complete solo-piano composition created through a concentrated encounter with an individual. Suited to retreats, residencies, and intimate gatherings where composition unfolds within a shared place and moment.
Listening salons, intimate performances, and conversations shaped around the character of a property, community, or cultural programme.
The engagement can begin with a focused pilot or develop over several days or a season. These are adaptable points of entry, not compulsory stages.
One evening · Invitation-led
An intimate encounter for a selected community, bringing together live piano, composed sound, conversation, and deliberate silence. Suited to opening weekends, patron dinners, cultural calendars, and private gatherings.
Flexible duration · A defining partnership format
A presence over several days, developed around the rhythm and identity of a property. Individual encounters, Piano Portraits, shared listening, and site-responsive composition can develop into a salon, performance, or body of original work.
Recurring programme · Developed across the year
A continuing relationship expressed through salons, performances, commissioned work, and evolving creative chapters across a season or annual calendar.
Site-inspired composition · Licensed uses
An artist-led interpretation of a property, landscape, archive, or cultural setting through original composition and performance. Agreed uses are licensed while authorship remains with the artist.
Artistic, guest, and editorial value that can be observed and documented with care.
A collaboration can offer a cultural programme specific to the place and its invited community, rather than transported unchanged between venues.
Artist-authored work with documented authorship, commission context, date, and archival provenance where appropriate.
Attentive encounters and shared listening can invite guests or members into an active relationship with the work, with space for response and return interest.
With agreed permissions, selected photography, video, programme narratives, and artist commentary for the partner's own communication.
Listening as a form of portraiture
During a five-day retreat in Brajčino near Lake Prespa, conversation, listening, and observation led to complete Piano Portraits created within the rhythm of the retreat.
The Field Note documents the process, participant reflections, photography, and four complete Piano Portraits.
Explore Field Note 01 - PrespaA first engagement can be deliberately focused: a salon, a short residency, or a site-responsive commission with a clearly defined audience, programme, and purpose.
Artistic concept, programme design, composition where commissioned, performance, facilitation, and agreed documentation.
The place, invited community, guest hospitality, local production, event safety, organisational support, and agreed logistics.
Invitations, registrations, attendance, and repeat participation where relevant.
Qualitative feedback, approved testimonials, and requests for continuation.
Relevant partnership, programme, and private-commission enquiries.
Completed artistic work and approved editorial engagement where data is available.
Measurement is proportionate, consent-aware, and respectful of guest privacy and data protection.
A focused pilot can develop into a returning residency, a seasonal series, or a body of place-specific compositions and encounters.
Over time, the collaboration can acquire its own history, returning audience, original work, and documented provenance while remaining responsive to the place.
Every engagement is defined according to its artistic form, setting, duration, production needs, and intended afterlife.
Creative fees, production, travel, accommodation, schedule, and partner responsibilities are agreed for each engagement.
Permitted uses, documentation, campaign content, in-room or site use, duration, territory, and exclusivity are licensed in writing where applicable.
Duke retains copyright in the compositions and the Atelier's underlying artistic IP unless a separate written agreement explicitly states otherwise. A work created for a place is not transferred into the partner's ownership by default.
